LES YACHTS DE LYON is innovating in the world of river events and has set itself the goal of planting 10,000 m2 of local, sustainable and diversified forest thanks to its commercial dynamics in 2023.
As of January 1, 2023, the Lyon-based company will propose to associate with each of its services the planting of a minimum area of 40 m2 of forest thanks to its partnership with FORESTOR.
This approach is a first in France in the world of river events. This willingness to participate in an action aimed at developing the best tool for capturing and storing CO2, the forest, is in line with the commitments already made in terms of environmental respect.
The company affirms the eco-responsible approach it has been taking for several years and its desire to take direct action in the vicinity, in a simple and logical manner.
The forestry project is intended to be local and should see the light of day at the foot of the Monts du Lyonnais, less than 30 kilometers from the company’s headquarters in Lyon. Proud of the human link that it weaves during each of the events it organizes, the company will propose to reinforce this link by offering the possibility to its customers’ employees to take part in the plantation.
The plantation should allow the planting of a thousand trees from species adapted to global warming.
Founded in 1999, LES YACHTS DE LYON manages 3 boats for events and 1 hybrid boat (the VAPORETTO) for urban transport and employs 12 people.
For more than 20 years, LES YACHTS DE LYON has been an active player in business tourism in the Lyon area and is fully aware that its event activity has a significant carbon footprint.
It is also a company employing 12 people and participates in an active and regular activity with multiple independent people.
Thanks to its new contribution to the FORESTOR label, Les YACHTS DE LYON becomes an ambassador committed to the fight against global warming and responds concretely to the expectations of companies in terms of CSR. This approach accompanies the actions already undertaken by Lyon Yachts with its suppliers and employees.
The objective is that each event held on board the boats contributes a minimum of 40 m2 of reforestation area, planted for each seminar, meal cruise, or anniversary party held on board. The restoration of the forests is the expression of this direct, sustainable and local commitment, shared with the client companies.
YACHTS DE LYON is counting on the massive adhesion of its customers in order to give all its dynamics to this ecological approach to which each collaborator or guest will be able to easily identify or even actively participate.
FORESTOR is a company which since 2019 acts for the (re)forestation with 3 major axes. A local forest less than 30 km between the sponsor and the forest, a sustainable forest (the choice of species adapted to global warming in the medium and long term), a diversified forest (4 species minimum per project).
The means to act are the sponsorship of committed companies that choose to act without subsidy, tax exemption or carbon monetization.
